YSGOL SANT BARUC (Barry)

Ysgol Gymraeg Sant Baruc is a Welsh medium primary school in Barry, South Wales. Barry is a large seaside town, twenty minutes from Cardiff the capital city of Wales. Our school has 222 student ages 3-11 and altogether we have 29 teachers and teaching assistants. We teach everything through the medium of Welsh (except for English lessons) and our children are completely fluent in Welsh and English. A large percentage of our children come from English speaking homes. We lead a successful Comenius project in 2012 on the theme ‘water’, we are thrilled to be a part of this Erasmus project.

As a school, our strengths are: our bilingualism, our thematic and creative approaches to teaching and learning, our extra-curricular artistic and sports based activities and our very high standard of teachers who ensure that all our pupils are educated in a happy and healthy environment.
